This piece was a comment on the "Wonder Woman" expectations some women and parts of society had, maybe in the 90's especially? Although women sensibly wanted access to the various possibilities of personal and professional life, most didn't really want to participate in all of them at once!  As a young bride, I went worked all day, went to school at night, did the zll the grocery shopping and cooking, did the laundry (ironing!!) and household cleaning.  Both my husband and I expected this of me.  It was a little over the top.
